Il progetto, già alla Festa del Cinema di Roma, sarà presentato con la Veneto Film Commission, alla 80ª Mostra internazionale d'arte cinematografica di Venezia e alla Biennale di Architettura, questo a sottolineare la volontà di fondere Cinema e Architettura come strumento unico in grado di avere un’azione di rigenerazione sociale e culturale prima che infrastrutturale.
La Città Macchina è Verona 900, città Patrimonio dell’Umanità dell’Unesco per la sua struttura urbana e architettonica, che con questo film intende superare ogni logica nostalgica e passatista. Protagonista del film è un ricercatore e fotografo, interpretato da Alessandro Preziosi, che insegue lo spirito futurista della città impersonificato da una Lancia Lambda Siluro del 1927 guidata da una donna misteriosa.
Un inseguimento oltre il XX secolo, dalla Rivoluzione Industriale, alla Ricostruzione del dopoguerra, fino alla Rigenerazione Urbana del presente e la Ricerca del domani, il tutto in costante equilibrio tra i valori tradizionali locali e le visioni globali internazionali di una città Fiera e Mercato aperta sul mondo.
Il film, come nelle intenzioni della Serie Città Novecento, intende essere la rappresentazione di sintesi tra documenti originali di archivio e le ricostruzioni cinematografiche degli aspetti più intimi dei principali protagonisti del tempo, accompagnati da oltre 30 interviste, tra le quali quelle a Mario Botta, Milo Manara, Tobia Scarpa, Ugo La Pietra, Alfonso Femia e Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, fondatore dello Studio Snøhetta di Oslo.
The project, already at the Rome Film Fest, will be presented with the Veneto Film Commission, at the 80th Venice International Film Festival and at the Architecture Biennale, this to underline the desire to merge Cinema and Architecture as a single tool capable to have an action of social and cultural regeneration before infrastructural.
The City Machine is Verona 900, a UNESCO World Heritage city for its urban and architectural structure, which with this film intends to overcome any nostalgic and traditionalist logic. The protagonist of the film is a researcher and photographer, played by Alessandro Preziosi, who follows the futurist spirit of the city personified by a 1927 Lancia Lambda Siluro driven by a mysterious woman. A pursuit beyond the 20th century, from the Industrial Revolution, to the post-war Reconstruction, up to the Urban Regeneration of the present and the Research of tomorrow, all in constant balance between traditional local values and international global visions of a Fair and Open Market city about the world.
The film, as in the intentions of the Serie Città Novecento, intends to be the synthesis representation between original archive documents and the cinematographic reconstructions of the most intimate aspects of the main protagonists of the time, accompanied by over 30 interviews, including those with Mario Botta, Milo Manara, Tobia Scarpa, Ugo La Pietra, Alfonso Femia and Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, founder of Studio Snøhetta in Oslo.
